Dec. 4, 2004

I went to this famous cemetary with my newfound friend, Alex. Alex is this British kid who is also here to teach English. We walked about an hour and a half to get there and then walked all around the cemetary looking a VERY elaborate headstones and statues. Very prestigous and famous people, and their families, are buried here. We took lots of pictures and then walked all the way back. I do remember it being very hot that day as well.

That evening I went to a farewell party at an Irish pub to say bye to this girl I met 4 days ago. OK, just an excuse to go to an Irish pub in Argentina! LOL. So after the pub we go to a club, Museo. This place is usually an art hall but they rent the place out for special events and such. When we arrived, the music and dancing hadn't started yet; there was a dinner of sorts before the dancing began. So, when all the dinner tables were being removed from the floor, there was a show to keep people entertained. A female stripper, who got all the way nekked. And a male stripper, who performed after her, who got all the way nekked. Now, the crowd was mostly 20-40's and everyone was OK with this. I gues they really know how to get parties stared down here!

The place was packed. You're always touching somebody, even if you're not dancing. The music was mostly tech-house-elecronica stuff with '80's songs thrown in every so often. With the heat, there's beers. And with beers, there's the trek to the bathroom. In one of my treks to the can, being pushed in one steady stream of human to human, a guy going the other way, grabs my hand and kisses it. Then the f**ker proceeds to grab one of my boobs with his other hand! With the crowd pushing me along, I missed his face by millimetres. If my fingernails were just a bit longer, I would have been happy to leave marks across his face. When I got back from the bathroom, I had lost my friends. I ended up finding another group of people I knew, who were from a different hostel, and danced with them until I left at around 4:30 am. This place is about twnety minutes walking distance from my hostel, but of course, with no sense of direction, I went the opposite direction. I found out afterwards that I had walked through a really bad area of town. Hm... couldn't tell when I walked by a street full of hookers. A couple of cars pulled up to me bu I kept walking. I'm sure I picked up my pace. It took me an hour and a half to get back to my hostel.

So, I walked for about 6 hours this day. I fell asleep quick.
