Dec. 25, 2004. Christmas

Shortly after midnight, Sarah and Horacio found me and we exchanged gifts. I got Sarah a box of Pocky (I still can't believe I found Pocky here!) and Horacio a new pair of chopsticks. He broke the previous pair trying to fix this portable fan. They gave me a pair of shades. I had cleverly left my great pair of pink shades, which took me months to find, in my car the day I left Vancouver. More partying to be had, then off to bed.

In the morning, I find out that Sarah had an all night date with the porcelin queen. The "Chinese food" really messed her up for a few days. Her ears were also inflated. Like Dumbo. (Sorry Sarah) It was kind of funny, in a "I am sooooo freakin sorry it happened but I can't stop laughing" kind of way. The poor girl couldn't eat for about 2 days.

Later on that day, we went to the potluck. It was a quiet gathering and I made chicken as well. That was Sarah's contribution but, even on good days, she can barely touch raw chicken. And in her half-catatonic state, I had to help her out. It turned out not bad. Later on, we all watched fireworks from the 18th floor balcony. We would have loved to party, but I think all the partying has finally caught up to us.

I really missed everyone at home today. This was the first Christmas ever that I haven't spent at home. All the stupid things we do that me and my sisters roll our eyes at. That is my traditional Christmas. Cleaning the house at the last minute to welcome about 20 people into my parent's house. Bickering over kitchen rights. Wondering where the heck a person is because all of us are working and they are not. Bitching about the people coming over. Having the turkey with the Chinese sticky rice. Watching a movie after. Sitting at the "kid's" table. Dancing in my sister's bedroom infront of the mirror. Things we take for granted. You don't realize love until you leave it.
