Sarah, Horacio, Carolina, some Dutch dude and I took a bus there. This place is a quiet little town 4 hours south of BsAs. We arrived in the deep of the night. Coach buses here are definitely interesting. I've had nothing to compare to but, when we got to the foot of the town, the bus stopped and we were rushed outside. Like a vending machine, we were ejected. I just remember just hurrying out onto the street. Of course I was half asleep and totally confused. We walked down the main strip, which took about twenty minutes, and got to Horacio's mother's house. This place is a huge square, with the rooms on the perimeter and a courtyard in the middle. There was also a huge backyard, a farmfield and stables where they kept the horses. The residential backyard had blackberry bushes and a peach tree. There was also a windmill. With my Spanish being horrendous, and his family knowing no English, I ended up playing with the dogs a lot. There were about six of them. The one that I loved the most was a Stinky look-a-like, except for buck teeth. For those of you who don't know Stinky, she's a rat terrier, fox terrier mix. I had a good time. Very relaxing.
We also went swimming. When we arrived, the guy said that we had to wait for the doctor to check us out before we were allowed in the pool. ?!?! So we waited for about 45 mins, drinking beer!! But the doc didn't show so we were allowed in only if we showered first. Weird. The doc was supposed to check our feet and our mouths for open sores.
I can't say which was more weird, needing to see the doc or that they sold beer at the counter.
